Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad that Obama finally endorsed gay marriage.

But don’t you think that he could’ve done it a week earlier, like when his VP did? He lost a valuable opportunity to use it to campaign against Amendment 1, which not only takes away gay marriage but civil unions and major domestic violence protections. Seems like an reactionary empty statement designed to be brought forth on a national stage without any useful legislation (or legislation repeal, in the case of North Carolina) that’s attached with it.

It’s a day late and a dollar short, almost literally.

As a progressive, I mostly have fears that what we’ll be seeing isn’t enough to fix the myriad problems we face. As liberals, we often look over the Purple elements of our Prez and focus only on the Blue.

The right’s phrases like Obama’s “waging a war on religion” and so on and so forth are all garbage.
